Today we pray for all those who are abused by others in this way, and whose pain and distress may well be hidden from view. Pray that within the Church we may provide a safe space for those victimised by others, and understand safeguarding as something fundamental to our Gospel faith. This week is also Children’s Mental Health Week. It is estimated that around three children in every class will have a mental health problem, while others may struggle with stressful challenges, for example, bullying, the illness of a close family member, or a bereavement. This year’s theme of “Express Yourself” encourages children to find their own voice, and to share feelings in creative ways. Please pray today for a deeper awareness of mental health issues in young people.
